No time to go to the gym? Bring the gym home to you.

If you’re like me, your wonky schedule makes it tough to fit in regular fitness classes. Maybe you wish you could take yoga after work, but your gym only offers it in the morning, or you would love to go running at midnight but don’t feel safe hitting the streets then, or you want to take up rowing but don’t live near a body of water. That’s where at-home workouts can come in handy!

Here are our six favorite at-home workouts for 2020.

Soul Food: PopSugar Fitness

PopSugar Fitness has been my go-to home workout for combo and HIIT workouts for more than a year. Class FitSugar Host Anna Renderer is an absolute gem. You can’t spend 30 minutes with her without feeling some kind of joy.

You can find dozens of free options with everything from strength to basic cardio to kickboxing. Some of my favorites are: 30-minute weighted HIIT workout with Raneir Pollard (he’s hilarious), Anna’s 30-minute bootcamp (includes both low and high-impact options), Jeanette Jenkins’ 45-minute kickboxing workout (very tough, not for beginners) and Anna’s 20-minute low impact workout (awesome for beginners, or for advanced athletes on a rest day).

And for you dancers, you’ll love DanceFitSugar. There are tons of free at-home options. But you can also buy paid workouts of all kinds at Glow by Popsugar.

Spinning and Running: Peloton

If you follow me on Facebook, you know I am a die-hard Peloton fan. I got my Peloton bike in 2019 due to my hectic work schedule. It allows me to stream live and on-demand spin classes at any hour of the day or night. But you don’t have to own a Peloton bike or treadmill to get the workouts. You can get the app for $12.99/month plus tax. Not only do you get the spinning and running/walking classes, you gain access to yoga, meditation, stretching, bootcamp, strength and cardio classes.

Rowing: Hydrow

Hydrow is often known as the Peloton of rowing machines. It offers an outdoor rowing experience right in your living room. Like Peloton, it has a screen on the machine that allows you to livestream classes. In other words, it could be a cold, winter day and you could feel like you’re rowing in a beautiful outdoor environment. You can also choose from a variety of classes for different fitness levels. It’s not cheap, however, at $2,199 though at the time of this publication it was on sale for $1,699.

Yoga: Yoga with Adriene

I could say positive things about Yoga with Adriene all day long. Her videos are my go-to relief from stress. She offers some great beginner videos for those of you who are not familiar with yoga. You can learn about all of the basics, including yoga poses. She also offers videos for just about every challenge that life throws your way. Some of my favorites are: Yoga for Cramps and PMS, Yoga for Headaches and Yoga for Stress Management.

Combo Options: Les Mills on Demand

Les Mills has been a staple in the gym environment for years. Back in the day, I rarely missed a Body Pump or Body Attack class. But what if you don’t have time to do Les Mills classes in a gym environment? The answer is Les Mills on Demand. With their large on-demand library, you can access weight training workouts, agility workouts, HIIT workouts and even dance workouts. A monthly subscription is $14.99 per month, with cheaper options available if you buy an annual subscription.
