As we look in the mirrors daily, the reflection we see may not always be a happy one. With the images on social media and hype of the “perfect body” it’s a struggle to even accept ourselves. Videos tell us what shape our butts should be, how flat our stomachs should be, and how “fun” it is to inject our bodies with fillers. No wonder we’re all confused with our bodies!
What happened to the days where we accepted ourselves? Running around in our short shorts and bathing suits, living such a carefree life. Where no one cared if you wore a crop top or anything at all!!! Maybe we lost it through fad diets and weight loss pills. Or maybe we lost our ideal body image in the minds of what others think we should look like?
Who says your body image isn’t perfect for you?
Who says there’s something wrong with you? As long as you’re happy with you, who cares what anyone else thinks? “Hey You!, Yes, You. Look at yourself in the mirror. Look at your beautiful smile. Look at how amazing you look in those jeans! Look at your body and love your body! Forget their standards.”
Love who you are!
You were created in the image of God. Fearfully and wonderfully made! Your body image is who you are! If you don’t like it, change it for you, not anyone else. Love the skin and body you’re in. Embrace every part of you. No matter if it’s dimples, cellulite, rolls or fluff, LOVE IT! You don’t need anyone else’s body image of you. Own it! Rock it! Love it!
I have learned to love my curves, flaws and imperfections, but most of all I’ve learned to love the woman who looks back at me in the mirror. She’s learned that the best love is self love. Don’t get me wrong, I used to be ashamed. Now I’ve embraced my body, my body image and every part that comes with it.
Do yourself justice ladies! Look at how beautiful you are. Look at that beautiful person staring back at you. Hold your head up queen. That way your crown will never fall off!
